Dear AMCHAM members and friends,
Welcome to the 13 May issue of the AMCHAM Newsletter! We are happy to have your attention and pleased to serve you and your friends… and to contribute to keeping Luxembourg strong and the best location for international companies their and employees to live and work in Europe.
We are all starting to notice a change of mood, slowly strengthening signs that perhaps the worse of the covid crisis is passing, perhaps we are returning to (a new!) normal. Now if only it would get a bit warmer outside!
With this new awakening, we in AMCHAM believe it is time to focus attention on relaunching the economy… because without a strong economy, we can not recover and undertake all of the tasks in front of us to make life better for all of our inhabitants. To support this economic relaunch, we hope you have noticed we have undertaken an initiative to encourage people to attend (and spend money!) in retail establishments who have agreed, in return, to give AMCHAM affiliated persons a minimum 10% discount on every purchase. Our goal is to help our member companies reward their employees who have sacrificed and worked hard during the pandemic, help our employees get more bang for their spendable money, and to help retailers who can’t afford to advertise by giving them free promotion (in exchange for them offering discounts!). We hope this win-win-win deal will be good for all concerned! We are now distributing the first 500 AMCHAM Member Benefits Cards. If your company has not given you one for free, suggest they do… or ask to be able to buy one for yourself, your spouse or your partner for only 10 Euro per card! See further details, below and let’s all help ourselves while contributing to the economic recovery of Luxembourg!
AMCHAM also acknowledges our special thanks to Giovani Patri, the CEO of Giovanni Patri & Associates, for his partnership support for arranging through his team the legal terms and conditions for our MBC project. Giovanni, we really appreciate your very professional support!
But relaunching the economy also offers us the opportunity to make changes in the ways we run our companies to enhance their creativity, efficiency, their performance… And this is often best done by doing things which help our employees to be the best they can be both by giving them opportunities and by empowering them to feel the freedom to make their best contributions… One of the few benefits of Covid experience is that it has unfrozen behaviors and given us the opportunity to reset policies, perceptions and procedures. Now, while these are all unfrozen and before they become frozen again, let’s use this time to make a New Normal that is better than the old normal! Let’s do this wisely and in partnership with our people!
To this end, we have invited Vinciane Istace, the People and Organization Partner at PWC, for an exclusive interview to share with you all her vision on the challenge of: Optimally Managing and Motivating the Workforce of Tomorrow!., I believe you will find this enlightening and very useful reading. Enjoy this interview!
Also in this issue we are pleased to announce some Luxembourg governmental news of interest to our community, our agenda of upcoming events, and a really wonderful cooking recipe!
We hope you enjoy this issue… and encourage you to pass it along to your colleagues and friends… And please encourage them to join us as new AMCHAM members!
With respect and my very best regards,
Paul
