The goal of our relaunched Connexion magazine is to take a deeper look into specific topics. We are excited to be offering these two publications: our weekly digital Newsletter with a current overview of information vital for living and working in Luxembourg, and this new, relaunched published paper magazine with a deeper look into specific topics of importance. We hope this approach meets your needs. Our sincere thanks to Luciana Restivo, the managing director of Espace Medias, the newly appointed medias sales company that has taken on the project, and Caroline Muhlfenzl for working together to manage this Connexion magazine relaunch. They are a great team!!!
Let’s find out the novelties compared to the previous edition by asking a few questions at Luciana Restivo, director of Espace Médias.
Amcham: Why did you take on the project for Connexion? A new edition after the pandemic?
Luciana Restivo: Connexion was a publication that represented a privileged contact between Amcham and its members, and, although the newsletter assisted in keeping the conversation going through the pandemic, we were happy to contribute to the relaunch of this publication to resume a different type of conversation where it had been interrupted.
What are the main novelties of this refreshed edition?
First, we tried to recreate in the magazine through a graphic chart and structured sections the two main aspects of the American Chamber of Commerce: business and the community. Each edition will cover a specific theme selected among local current affairs but relevant to the international business community in Luxembourg (education, real estate, workspace, tax, and legal).
What is new about the front cover?
All current international affairs magazines have one recurrent color in common: red! On top of that, red is one of the colors of the American flag, and it is present in the Amcham logo. This will also contribute to the positioning of Connexion as a B2B business-focused magazine and, as a result, to its profitability from an advertising point of view.
What does it change for the reader’s experience?
The magazine has a structured organization with sections reserved for Amcham’s information and past and future events. However, most of the magazine is reserved for key speakers, interviews and points of view from the members or committees. It’s a magazine made by the members and for the members so that the network and the “connexions” created during Amcham events are still going on within the magazine. The layout is quite understated, and photos play an essential role in making the communication more open and, again, giving voice to the people who “make” Amcham.
What happens to generic themes related to socializing in Luxembourg, i.e., Christmas fairs and boot sales?
With Amcham, we agreed that these subjects, although relevant for the community, should have been covered in the Amcham digital newsletter, which is, in fact, more flexible and refers to the whole community.
