Last Friday evening the Amcham Real Estate committee went to Clausen to LUCA (Luxembourg Center for Architecture) for an excellent presentation on the history of urban development in Luxembourg and the future plans which are intended to enhance the quality of life of people while also promoting a green agenda that reduces the urban footprint caused by human activities.
This was really great event which included a video, several excellent slide presentations and miniature models showing the phases of an urban transformation from the present status into a more human focused (and lower carbon environment!).
Following the presentation; the committee took the presentation to an excellent Italian restaurant hosted (with great appreciation by DSM law firm) to continue the conversation. While this event was a Real Estate committee event, it also raised issues of interest associated with rights of individual freedom as opposed to the collective rights of government on behalf of community interests. We understand these matters are still to be discussed or resolved at a political level and suggest interested parties would do well to be involved. We will likely do another event on this topic with these same people and encourage all interested parties to be involved.
