Schroeder & Associés has a new Board

– PRESS RELEASE –

Martine Schummer becomes a member of the Board of Directors, succeeding Robert Jeworowski who is retiring.

The announcement was made internally at the end of 2023 and the new governance took place in the first days of 2024:  Board of Directors of the engineering firm Schroeder & Associés welcomes Martine Schummer, succeeding Robert Jeworowski.

Robert Jeworowski asserted his retirement rights; he closes Schroeder’s doors after having spent his entire career there. “My adventure began in 1984 as a young engineer employed in the “Metal Constructions” department; I joined the associate team in 2003 and became a member of management in 2012. However, I could not have written this beautiful story without your contribution,” he said in a message sent to company staff. “I shared with you my experience and my vision of the projects we carried out together. Thank you very much for your excellent collaboration.”

The transmission and sharing of experiences is indeed one of Robert Jeworowski’s leitmotifs. “It seems important to me to make young engineers and professionals aware of the responsibilities that come with carrying out their professions. Their choices have a long-term impact”. And Robert Jeworowski concludes: “My experience brought me to the Management Committee. I have faith in the next generation.”

Talented and committed

Martine Schummer takes her place on the Board of Directors on January 1, 2024, to represent the Structure department.

She becomes the first woman to enter the Board and now sits alongside Thierry Flies, Serge Welscher and Paul Weydert. “It’s an honor for me and a responsibility that I take on with enthusiasm,” comments the new director.

A civil engineer, Martine Schummer joined Schroeder & Associés in 2003. Managing projects fot the Buildings-Works department, Martine was promoted to Associate in 2016. In particular, she manages the “transformations, revaluation”, “wood construction”, “sustainable resources and biodiversity” and “sustainable construction consulting” skills units.

Particularly involved in sustainable development and CSR, she is convinced that engineers must contribute to negotiating the virtuous environmental and societal shift.

“Martine is a talented and committed engineer, in line with our Schroeder 2030 strategy, which she greatly contributes to promoting,” comments Thierry Flies, managing director of Schroeder & Associés. “Her experience and sensitivity to these fundamental themes are welcome in our Management. Congratulations to Martine!

As for Robert, I am personally very proud to have worked with him. On my behalf and with all the partners, executives and, I am sure, all those who may have crossed his path, we thank him for his contribution to engineering made in Luxembourg and made by Schroeder! And we wish him to enjoy this well-deserved retirement.”
