Miami University in Luxembourg (MUDEC) capped off a banner year by celebrating July 4th with over 160 guests at their annual barbeque. During the academic year 2023-2024, MUDEC welcomed record numbers of students each semester (153 and 165), celebrated their 55th year in Luxembourg with 250 alumni and visitors from the US and the same number of locals, Luxembourgish alumni, host families, community partners, faculty, staff and students. They had their first large group of 50 students living in brand new apartments in Differdange while they had over 100 students living with host families.
Every year, MUDEC celebrates the end of the summer term with summer program students, internship students, faculty, staff, host families, community partners, friends of the program and host families on July 4th in true American style. The MUDEC chef grills the food, they have yard games out, music plays and everyone enjoys the beautiful chateau grounds with the greater MUDEC family.
Next up is the annual English Language Learners Camp (ELL) where two Miami University (Ohio) Faculty bring 10 student teachers to Luxembourg and they run two immersion camps in the Chateau for primary and secondary school in partnership with the International Schools in Differdange and Esch (EIDE).
