Dear AmCham Members, Partners, Readers and Friends,
Welcome to our last AmCham Newsletter for 2024. We have seriously enjoyed serving you this year and hope you have liked our commentaries, interviews, articles, foods recipes (big thanks Bibi!), MBC promotions, event announcements and photos! Now that we are entering the Christmas & Hanukkah holiday period, we will take a month’s break to recharge our batteries so we can come back strong to better serve you in the New Year.
We are already preparing for and look forward to an exciting New Year and believe strongly this coming year can be a year of success for our international community, our companies and for this country we all love. We will be there for you every step of the way… and trust you will be there with us as well.
Last week, we were very pleased to put on as our last event for 2024, a great event (big thanks to Deloitte for hosting!) explaining and celebrating the continued strength and success of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment relationship between the United States and Luxembourg (and all of Europe). Did you know that the USA is the fourth largest trading partner of Luxembourg and the only one of the top ten trading partners of Luxembourg from outside of Europe? Did you know that three of the top ten employers in Luxembourg are from the USA, again being the only non-European companies among these top ten? Did you know USA Companies employ 25,000 employees in Luxembourg? Did you know that US corporate investments in Luxembourg exceed 800 million Euros?
Within this Newsletter, please find the video from Deputy Prime Minister Bettel praising this trade relationship, the speech from US Ambassador Barrett, the briefing slides from Thibaut l’Ortye, the Communications Director from our sister organization, AmCham EU… and we had the pleasure to a live broadcast from Consul General&Executive Director LTIO in New York, Luc Decker. Finally, be reassured that the historic close ties economically, politically, within NATO and culturally are so solid and mutually beneficial they will continue to endure since their start in the 1830s!
The AmCham family wishes you and yours a very Merry Christmas, a very happy Hanukkah, a joyous New Year’s eve, and a wonderful start in 2025!
With all our respect, appreciation, and very warmest regards,
Paul Schonenberg
Chairman and CEO
