Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (Benelux) Corporate & Investment Banking Leadership announcement

A message from Jim O’Neil, head of EMEA Corporate and Investment Banking, and Ference Lamp, Benelux country executive

We are pleased to announce that Frank Haffmans and Sergeij Hierner have been appointed co-heads of Corporate & Investment Banking for Benelux. Together, Frank and Sergeij will partner closely to strengthen our relationships with key clients and further drive the growth of our business across the region. They will be based in Amsterdam and will report to Jim, with Frank continuing to report to Richard King for his Corporate Banking responsibilities.

During his 30 years in banking, Frank has worked for more than a decade in Investment Banking and two decades in Corporate Banking/Structured Finance roles. He joined the firm’s Benelux team in 2013 as head of Corporate Banking for Benelux and has played an important role in growing the Benelux business across GCIB.

Sergeij has more than 20 years of experience in Investment Banking and was most recently at Goldman Sachs where he was head of Investment Banking for Belgium and Luxembourg as well as head of the Benelux mid-cap coverage team. Sergeij has deep regional experience, having advised on some of the largest transactions in Benelux. He will join the firm at the beginning of next year.

Ference will support this leadership transition and, as Country Executive, will continue to focus on the cultivation of long-term senior relationships with industry clients across the region and developing our business across our franchise in Benelux.

Please join us in welcoming Sergeij to the firm, congratulating Frank on his expanded role, and wishing them both every success in their new roles.

Frank Haffmans
