Dear Colleagues, partners and friends,
This week in your AMCHAM Newsletter we are delighted to bring you an interview with Raymond Manes, the head of the Miami University of Ohio John E. Dolibois European Center, which oversees the semester abroad program taught at the Differdange Castle.
For many years now, this program has allowed students from the United States to live and study for half a year in Luxembourg while exploring Europe on weekends. As result they get to know the real story of people and their lives and perhaps gain friendships and understanding that will last the rest of their lives. This is a great school doing a terrific job which we are happy to have this opportunity to share. Enjoy the interview!
I hope all of you have seen the coverage promoting the 10 annual Barnes International Polo tournament being put on by the Polo Club Luxembourg. This undertaking also links a part of Luxembourg with a part of America since the Gay Polo League of the United States will be sending one of the competing teams. AMCHAM is very pleased to be a partner in this project and hope many of you will come and enjoy the three day event, including the Friday evening Pink and White dinner celebration and the Saturday evening dance and BBQ on the polo pitch. The Polo association will be pleased to have company sponsors buying tables for the Pink and White banquet and tickets for their employees, as well as for the tournament matches themselves. You can find additional information (HERE). Any profits above the operational costs will be donated to support the charity and community services activities of ROSA Luxembourg.
Following our successful Communal election event hosted by ING and featuring the Luxembourg City mayoral candidates, we are working to present several more election events in English. We are pleased to be partnering with the LuxTimes, the British and Romanian Business Chambers and the Luxembourg Bankers Club.
The second event on Wednesday 28 June, will also kindly be hosted by ING.
All details to be announced in our next week’s newsletter. Please join us!
With respect and our very best wishes,
Paul Schonenberg
