Dear AMCHAM members and friends,
Two years ago, in the early stages of Covid, the AMCHAM team went to talk with our retail sector friends to ask them how they were doing and what we could do to help. They told us they needed more foot traffic into their stores but did not have money to pay for advertising. They said they would be pleased to have help from us.
At the same time, we also talked with our members, who told us they were looking to give more benefits to their employees but were having difficulty doing that because of tight budgets.
After thinking about the needs of both groups, we decided we could help by promoting partner retailers to our affiliated employees in return for our partner retailers giving AMCHAM-affiliated employees pre-agreed discounts. The result of this is our AMCHAM Member Benefits Discount program (MBC) which includes 260 retail partners all over Luxembourg and the Grand Region.
Our AMCHAM colleague, Jorge Rodriguez, has worked tirelessly convincing retailers to offer pre-agreed discounts to our AMCHAM-affiliated employees (and their family members!) when they shop at our participating partner retailers. Thank you, Jorge, for taking this on with so much energy and success!
Because of our success, we have doubled the number of free MBC cards we offer to the employees of AMCHAM member companies for the coming holiday season and expanded the program to include spouses and partners. AMCHAM member companies are now entitled to have the following:
- Charter member companies are offered 100 free cards
- Corporate member companies are offered 50 free cards
- Small business member companies are offered 20 free cards
- Students, retirees, independents and Academics are each offered two free cards
- AMCHAM member company employees can buy additional cards for 10 euros each, and non-AMCHAM member companies can buy MBC cards for 50 euros each.
We encourage AMCHAM companies to make this free discount program available to their employees. In the current challenging economic environment, let’s help our retailers to survive and support our employees to get more purchasing power from their income!
