The ∞ Miami University Dolibois European Center Campus has been located since 1997 in the former Arcelor Mittal Chateau in Differdange.
The Center is headed by Mr. Raymond Manes, Executive Director, assisted by Associate Director ∞ Dr. Stephanie Shaheen, who led 25 visiting students on a visit to AMCHAM on 23 March.
The students, all from the parent Ohio, USA university campus, have been visiting to gain a wider view of Luxembourg and Europe. The notable purpose of the Campus in Differdange is to offer an opportunity for Miami University students in the USA to participate in a semester of study abroad using Luxembourg as a central location to gain a wider world view based on living and studying here in Luxembourg and using Luxembourg as a central location to travel around Europe. In the coming weeks we will publish a longer interview with the school to give our readers a better understanding of mission and excellent results of this educational program.
Our Chairman, Paul Schonenberg, was pleased to have the opportunity to discuss with these visiting students the challenges and opportunities faced by international people living and working in Luxembourg, the story of the creation and development of AMCHAM in Luxembourg and his personal career development and life lessons from living and working in Luxembourg for 30 years. His talk was followed by an interactive discussion with the students answering their questions about the opportunities and challenges of living an international life style.
AMCHAM was delighted to have this opportunity to welcome and host these students and staff members! We hope we have positively interested and encouraged them to consider pursuing international career opportunities as part of their life choices.
